2019 – 2020 SHORT COURSE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM

Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an industry-funded body that supports the workforce in the building and construction industry. CSQ funds a range of training programs to reduce the cost for trainees or employers. CSQ provides funding through Registered Training Organisations like Training Services for training and skills development within the construction industry.

Are you actively working in the construction industry or have been in the last 4 Years? The short courses program is designed to get you up-skilled fast with nationally recognised training.

The funding of the service is available to eligible participants that are hands on in Construction in Queensland and will be provided to the successful participant upon completion of each approved short course. Training Services are proud to be offered a 2019 – 2020 CSQ Short Course Civil Construction contract for the Far North and Northern regions.

Courses on offer include:

Funding is limited to the maximum funding amount under the contract! For the current program, which runs from 1st Oct 2019 to 30th Sept 2020, each eligible participant is able to access up to FIVE (5) CSQ funded Civil Construction Short Courses – this includes a maximum of THREE (3) RII Mobile Plant Units. Funding is not available for any courses previously completed by a participant or for a Verification of Competency.

 

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A participant is only eligible for a maximum of five (5) eligible short courses- civil construction which can only include a maximum of three (3) RII mobile plant operation short courses list attached.

For  the purposes of  eligibility,  Participants  under this  Agreement must meet  the following criteria:

1.Eligible Participant means:

(a) An Existing Worker; and

(b) An Eligible Worker; or

(c) An Unemployed Eligible Worker.

 

AND MUST BE:

(d) An Australian or New Zealand citizen; or

(e) A permanent resident of Australia; or

(f) A refugee and humanitarian visa holder.

 

AND MUST:

(g) Permanently reside in Queensland; or

(h) Be permanently employed in Queensland.

 

An Existing Worker is a current Employee in the Building and Construction Industry who has a one  month  or  more  employment  relationship  with  their  Employer.  The working   relationship   can   be   built   up   through   full-time, part-time   or   casual employment or engagement as a contract worker.

An Eligible Worker has the same  meaning  as  the Building  and  Construction Industry (Portable Long Services Leave) Act 1991(Qld) as amended from time to time.

An Unemployed Eligible Worker is a person who has been unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years that would otherwise meet the requirements of an Eligible Worker.

Oct 2019 – Sept 2020 APPRENTICE ADVANCE PLUS – CIVIL CONSTRUCTION SHORT COURSES

The Program will provide funding to assist eligible Apprentices and Trainees during their apprenticeship or traineeship and in the first year following completion of their apprenticeship or traineeship to undertake further skills training, to assist them to be competitive in the market and gain licences essential to their future work.

Eligible Apprenticeships and traineeships – list attached above. There is no limit on short courses eligible Apprentices and Trainees can access- list attached below.

Courses on offer include:

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

For the purposes of  eligibility,  Participants  under this  Agreement must meet  the following criteria:

1.Eligible Participant means:

(a) An Australian or New Zealand citizen; or

(b) A permanent resident of Australia; or

(c) A refugee and humanitarian visa holder.

 

AND MUST:

(g) Permanently reside in Queensland; or

(h) Be permanently employed in Queensland.

 

AND MUST BE:

(f) A current active Apprentice or Trainee in Queensland undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship; or

(g)  An Existing Worker or Unemployed Eligible Worker in the first year out of their Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who must commence training within 365 days of the completion date in DELTA; or

(h) A   cancelled   Apprentice   or   Trainee   who   was   undertaking   a   Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship that has been cancelled and they are currently accessing   State   Government   funding   to   complete   their   institution-based training; or

(i) A current active Apprentice or Trainee in Queensland undertaking a Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship who is working on a Major Project; or

(j) An Existing Worker in the first year out of their Recognised Apprenticeship or Traineeship  who  must  commence  training  within  365  days  of  the  completion date in DELTA who is working on a Major Project.
